Portrait clips keep the ball in frame

In 9:16, the frame follows the ball and gets there before the pass. Measured on 28 clips: the ball stays in the picture 97% of the time.

  • In 9:16, the crop follows the ball, not just whatever moves: the streamer’s webcam no longer pulls the frame.
  • The frame moves before the pass: the player receiving the ball is already in the picture.
  • Measured on 28 clips from 7 streamers: the ball stays in frame 97% of the time, against 74% with the previous crop and 79% for a frame fixed in the centre.
  • The frame glides smoothly and stays still when the play does.
  • Goal reels in 9:16 get it too.
  • Clips already created keep their framing. New analyses and new reels get the new one.
